Tees Valley Partnership
Single Programme Delivery Plan 2004 / 2005

Project Title: Tees Valley Third Sector Economic Support Project

Project Description:
The project will provide high quality assistance and support to third sector (voluntary, community and faith) organisations across the Tees Valley. The project will strengthen the capacity of third sector organisations to play a stronger role in community regeneration, cultural development, environmental development, learning and wealth creation.

One Voice Tees Valley has a Tees Valley strategic role and will develop work as follows:-

  • Support to the third sector representative on the Tees Valley Partnership – establishing communication and liaison links between TVP and the third sector in Tees Valley and ensuring consultation takes place between the sector and the representative.
  • Develop a Compact between the third sector and the Tees Valley Partnership.
  • Work as co-ordinating organisation in partnership with the Local Development Agencies to develop a Tees Valley Third Sector Strategy.
  • Undertake new work with appropriate partners, especially the Learning & Skills Council Tees Valley to develop a programme of training, learning and workforce development for the sector across the Tees Valley.
  • Undertake new work with all appropriate agencies to raise the capacity of the third sector to engage in regeneration work which will enable them to contribute to the achievement of the Tees Valley Vision.
  • Work as lead organisation in partnership with the voluntary sector representative to develop strategic responses to sub-regional, regional and national strategies as they affect the sector.
  • Deliver a programme of work to bring together voluntary/community sector reps of the five LSPs to ensure the level of skills and knowledge is consistent across the sub-region and that they receive the strategic information they require to be effective in their work. This will involve a regular Tees Valley voluntary/community LSP Forum.
  • Extend the production and circulation of Tees Valley Briefing and other strategic and good practice documents to 2,000 contacts and to include Tees Valley Partnership information.
  • Production of One Voice Tees Valley, Tees Valley third sector web site.
